RIELLO UPS SYSTEMS joins the EUROPEAN UNIONS efficiency code of conduct

Standby Systems has announced that RPS UPS systems, the 5th largest UPS manufacturer in the world today, with all UPS backup products being 100% designed and manufactured in Italy, has signed the new code of conduct (COC) under the EU requirements for UPS system efficiencies that has been released to public under the EU commissions joint research centre and CEMEP (European committee of manufacturers of Electrical machine and power electronics who represent a market sector of 22,4 billion Euros with over 200 thousand employees https://cemep.eu/ ) watchful eye with their full agreement and commitment.

The entire Riello UPS range of products falls within the most stringent and highest efficiency levels standards, as governed under the requirements of this agreement. This latest code of conduct ensures that new guidelines are established for UPS manufacturers in the EU and how they need to achieve the highest levels of energy efficiency in their products they produce whilst lifting the minimum requirements for efficiency of the previous COC.

The COC for Alternating current (AC) static uninterruptible power supply systems (UPS) is applicable to all three UPS topologies, under the static backup power technology sector to include:

  1. Off line UPS unit
  2. Line interactive UPS unit
  3. On line double conversion UPS unit

The COC aims to reduce power consumption as far as physically possible by producing products with unrivalled levels of high efficiency whilst taking into consideration the actual site use conditions which are usually at 25,50 and 75% of full load inverter capacity. Thus the full load efficiency is no longer considered relevant under the latest EU directives as it was in the previous COC as it is more theoretical than what actually happens in the field in terms of percentage load applied to a UPS in general.

With the exception of special application models the entire Riello UPS range exceeds the minimum requirements for energy level efficiencies as prescribe under the new COC and has achieved an Elite status recognition under these new requirements.

Such an important recognition is as a result of Riello UPS design engineering teams hard efforts and dedication in the past to achieve maximum operating UPS inverter efficiency levels and a motivational factor for Riello to continue to invest heavily in R&D in the stive for zero losses and lowest operating cost.

The new COC for data centers specifies that any UPS system that is installed must adhere to the UPS system COC with ELITE status only. Such requirements makes the Riello UPS range an obvious choice for high end users such as data centers but also ensures that all other industries benefit from the highly efficient static uninterruptible power supply systems that Riello produce.
