Derek and Jade taking on the Mandela Day Walkathon one lap at a time; a heartwarming journey sponsored by Standby Systems in support of Avril Elizabeth Home.
On Mandela Day, 18 July, we had the privilege of being part of something truly special.
Standby Systems proudly sponsored Derek Morgan, who took on a heartfelt mission to complete as many laps as possible in the Avril Elizabeth Home Wheelchair Walkathon, pushing his nephew Jade, a joyful resident with Down Syndrome, every step of the way.
This wasn’t just a walk. It was a powerful act of love, inclusion, and support for the physically and intellectually challenged residents of Avril Elizabeth Home. Every lap Derek completed meant more funds raised, more awareness generated, and more smiles shared.
At Standby Systems, we’re honoured to back initiatives that celebrate dignity, purpose, and community. Avril Elizabeth Home does incredible work every day, and we are proud to walk beside them.
Thank you, Derek, Jade, and the whole Avril Elizabeth family for reminding us what Madiba Day is all about: Walking in the shoes of compassion, one lap at a time.
