The Riello Sentryum rack mount UPS range has evolved from the highly successful high power, one power factor rated tower range from 10 to 40 kW. The unit has a unique, compact design and footprint. It comes with up to four strings of 7 or 9 AH ELITE sealed VRLA backup batteries, held internally or with an extended charger, or up to 20 amps for long backup times using a big external battery bank.
The rack mount version of the Sentryum UPS unit was developed for use in all sectors of the market whether industrial or otherwise; it offers optimum power protection and backup. Available in up to 160 kW in 20 kW rack mount parallelable modules, it can be configured in a single- or three-phase output power backup system.
Battery setup is adjustable in configuration from -5 + 15 up to -22 + 22 x 12-volt blocks, adjustable from the touch screen front panel display. The unit is also fitted as standard with a cold start function so that it can be powered up from the battery in the case of mains supply not being available whilst battery backup is.
This rack mount UPS is built with an IGBT rectifier on the input to ensure power conditioning and filtering, thereby eliminating the effect of any harmonics and reactive power being fed back into the mains supply grid. This addition makes the unit backup generator-friendly without the need for big oversizing limits in the generator to compensate for the UPS.
It is available in two sizes, i.e., one- or three-phase outputs with 3 x 20 kW modules in a cabinet and up to three cabinets in parallel. Each module in a cabinet is fitted with full isolation facilities of each module for input, output, and bypass. Each module is provided with a separate input for the bypass as a standard feature.
Each 20 kW UPS module has fitted power connectors to enable easy plug in or plug out of any one power module. The system can operate as a stand-alone 20 kW module which can be expanded along with load growth up to 60 kW in one rack.
