Standby Systems attended Electra Mining Africa 2024 with Riello UPS
September saw Electra Mining Africa 2024 come and go. Standby Systems exhibited in Hall 6, sharing the hall with other key players in the South African mining industry.
The Show is hosted by Specialized Exhibitions on a bi-annual basis. 2024 saw Standby Systems Exhibiting at Electra Mining Africa for the first time. It was also the first time we had our suppliers’ representative for Riello in Italy with us at a show!
First, we’d like to extend a big THANK YOU to every person who stopped by our stand!
Whether it was for a quick catchup or an in-depth discussion on your UPS needs, you made it worth it for us to be at the show. Without our clients, we are nothing.
The show attracted lots of visitors from all over Africa, giving us an opportunity to cultivate new friendships and widen our distribution network.
The show started with a huge buzz in all the Halls and the open-air exhibition areas. There was a distinct air of expectation as all the vendors looked forward to the opportunity to meet new clients and catch up with existing clients, friends, and partners in the industry.
As the doors opened at 09:00, visitors started streaming into the JHB Exhibition Venue in their hundreds! The hype around the start of the show carried many exhibitors through, as there were some who had spent the whole weekend building and preparing their exhibition.
Visitors kept streaming in throughout the first two days, with a huge influx of visitors on Wednesday, marking Wednesday not only as the halfway point but also as the busiest day of the show.
With the excitement around the opening of the show long gone, it now seemed that the visitors who joined the second half of the show were more focused on their industry-specific needs. We say this because we noticed by now that the visitors were not just walking around aimlessly; instead, they were determined to reach out to the exhibitors to assist with their requirements, asking all the right questions and showing interest in what the Exhibitors had to offer.
Huge interest was shown in the Riello UPS and Battery solutions we have on offer for various backup power needs right throughout the whole mining and manufacturing process, including three-phase UPS backup solutions for IT, Instrumentation, CCTV, Security, Condition monitoring, Data Centres, Emergency Lighting and even Marine Certified UPS systems for offshore use on oil rigs and diamond ships.
The last day of the show brought along a different atmosphere for the exhibitors and organisers as the end was on the horizon. Friday saw a lot of visitors who just wanted to skip the office for a day and collect free handouts!
With Electra Mining Africa being the 5th Show for Standby Systems in 2024, we can honestly say this was, to date, the most successful show for us!
It was worth getting stuck in traffic to and from the show, every bit of effort to set up the show, spending five days on our feet, and taking every opportunity to interact with potential new clients and existing clients who buy now is feel like part of the family!
We hope to see you soon at the following shows:
3 October 2024 at the MTE Steelpoort Mining and Technical Exhibition in Mpumalanga
15 – 17 October 2024 at the 28th International Federation of Healthcare Engineers Conference hosted by SAFHE at CTICC – Cape Town, Western Cape
